If you take an enemy territory with less units than your opponent then you are rewarded 1 extra XP point. For example if you attack a 6 with a 5 you are rewarded with 2 XP and 1 shard, but if you attack a 6 with a 7 you get 1 XP and 1 shard. Therefore you will always get more XP than shards, never vice versa. Performance XP (XP rewarded when you get a certain place) is capped at 40 with 5 XP per player in the game. Performance XP does not earn you shards. Nor does the premium bonus multiplier. As proof, in my last couple of games, I was rewarded 80 shards playing a 6 player game.
Actually, I am well aware. I am level 28 and am well versed in the game. If you actually read my post properly you would have noticed that I said I took over 150 of his territories. Same for the others who commented.
Anyway, Lopdo can you please tell us how things have been capped? Because right now it wont be worth playing anything larger than a map with 50 tiles if things are capped so low. I love your game, but one of the things that makes it so fun is that you can see your progress move forward steadily. It's why I spent $10 during your half off sale to purchase lifetime premium. Under the present limits though, things will go to a stand still. I couldn't imagine gathering 4000 shards at 50 shards a game. That would be 80 games. With each averaging about 40 minutes (and that's being somewhat fair), that would be 53 hours of game play for 1 upgrade.
Even at 80 shards as the person in my above post mentioned(which given that he had 6 players, would make sense for it to be more), it would take about 33 hours. Just some food for though.
