Mhmm, all the road signs are still in miles when they should be kilometres >_>

Yeah, but will take quite a long time.

I hope I will live to see the day when entire world starts to use metric system, US is practically only country of significance that is behind

In defense of Fahrenheit, the only reason you think it's weird is because you base yours off of the melting and boiling points of water (which means there is a much smaller range of the scale that people will actually be able to use when checking how hot it is outside) and that happens to be 32 and 212 on Fahrenheit. The development of the Fahrenheit scale was based on three calibration points, starting from a base temperature (which was 0 degrees) which was achieved using salt, water, and ice, the freezing point, and the human body temperature. And when you take those three, you get a much better scale which has a 0-100 range that much more closely matches normal outside temperatures.

You base the logic of Fahrenheit off the logic of your system, when ours is set up off of completely different points to be more practical for every day use.

your argument with outside temperature is invalid. You don't really need finer scale than celsius offers to express how hot it is outside, even that is more than enough. If, for some reason you do need it, you can use decimals.

You are right that from "what feels more natural" they are equal, because it is all about what we grew up with. Both scales use arbitrary endpoints. The only important thing is that only one is standardized, used in science and practically everywhere.

It only sounds that way because Fahrenheit is smart.

Kelvin is based on Celsius, and I would say that it's much better for measuring extremely low temperatures than Rankine (based off Fahrenheit the same way). But who wants to use decimals all the time for normal day stuff? Add ten degrees and you go from comfortable temperature to extremely hot in Celsius. :D (Slight exaggeration, I know, but you get the point)

I've switched to the other systems you have though, like meters and liters and all that stuff, and I agree those are better.
