Well I think in a regular game, even on the biggest map (96 slots with gigantic 8 players), you will never end up taking each territory more that twice. So I guess a 200 shards cap wouldn't hurt anyone :-)

Yeah, Lopdo, please don't cap the shards, I pour hours of time every day into playing XXL 8 player random maps and it takes long enough to get shards as it is

In hardcore things might change though. I am assuming that you got your avatar from a hardcore game right? Anyway, the shards that you would earn per unit of time would be lower than playing multiple games I think in the same time (unless people always surrender against you.)

I have to redo my answer......on one of the new maps in a 7 person game i won and got 608 XP and nearly 250 shards....nice

Mine is 508, which I got from techgump's map. Seriously, if everybody had waited just one more turn before ragequitting I could've gotten even more...
