I am reading a bunch of books to help write my dissertation.

Other than that, I'm reading Conn Iggulden's Conqueror and Emperor series (I've read both before, but they were good so I'm reading them again).

Conqueror Series:
    Conqueror
    Empire of Silver
    Bones of the Hills
    Lords of the Bow
    Wolf of the Plains

Emperor Series:
    The Gates of Rome
    The Death of Kings
    The Dield of Swords
    The Gods of War
Xerxes:Let us reason. It would be a waste. It would be madness for you and your troops to perish because of a misunderstanding. There is much our cultures could share.
Leonidas:Haven't you noticed? We've been sharing our culture with you all morning.

THE DWARVES -Markus Heitz.

I bought this book as i like books on mythical things and lord of the rings type books. It's not deep as L.o.f.t.R. but more light hearted and funny in parts but still has a depth to the story.A story of finding ones self and over-coming lifes obstacles. Also becoming a hero.

The Da Vinci Code

The Da Vinci Code is a 2003 mystery-detective novel written by Dan Brown.
Spoiler: show
It follows symbologist Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu as they investigate a murder in Paris's Louvre Museum. The novel is part of the exploration of alternative religious history. The book also refers to The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail (1982).

The one above isn't as much as a spoiler as this one...

The book has provoked a popular interest in speculation concerning the Holy Grail legend and Magdalene's role in the history of Christianity. The book has been extensively denounced by many Christian denominations as an attack on the Roman Catholic Church

Spoiler: show
Louvre curator and Priory of Sion Grand Master Jacques Saunière is fatally shot one night at the museum by an albino Catholic monk named Silas, who is working on behalf of someone known only as the Teacher, who wishes to discover the location of the "keystone," an item crucial to the search for the Holy Grail. After Saunière's body is discovered in the pose of the Vitruvian Man, the police summon Harvard Professor Robert Langdon, who is in town on business. Police Captain Bezu Fache tells him that he was summoned to help the police decode the cryptic message Saunière left during the final minutes of his life. The note also includes a Fibonacci sequence left out of order, as a code. Langdon explains to Fache that Saunière was a leading authority in the subject of goddess artwork and that the pentacle Saunière drew in his own blood represents an allusion to the goddess and not "devil worship", as Fache believes.

My favorite series:

The Kingkiller Chronicles

Book 1: The Name of the Wind
Summery:
Spoiler: show
This is the riveting first-person narrative of Kvothe, a young man who grows to be one of the most notorious magicians his world has ever seen. From his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, to years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime-riddled city, to his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic, The Name of the Wind is a masterpiece that transports readers into the body and mind of a wizard.

Book 2: The Wise Man's Fear
Spoiler: show
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me.

So begins the tale of a hero told from his own point of view—a story unequaled in fantasy literature. Now in The Wise Man’s Fear, Day Two of The Kingkiller Chronicle, Kvothe takes his first steps on the path of the hero and learns how difficult life can be when a man becomes a legend in his own time.

Book 3 is currently being written.

I highly recommend this series. No other books I've read come close to it.

The book I'm currently reading:
Eventide
Summery:
Spoiler: show
When a traveling bard stumbles into a dragon's den, he is forced to tell stories to the fire-breathing menace or end up being eaten. Eventually running out of tales to share, he makes a deal with the dragon: for his freedom, he will return with new sagas of adventure, romance, and bravery.

Tales of the Dragon's Bard is the story of one man's quest to collect the most exciting stories he possibly can, and Eventide is the first town he encounters. With wish-women, gnomes, a centaur farmer, a resident Gossip Fairy, and a blacksmith dwarf, those living in Eventide have enough going on to keep the Dragon's Bard busy collecting all kinds of stories - especially if he can liven up those adventures a bit with his own ridiculous plots.

Angel beats is a great, emotional manga about teenagers who prematurely die finding fulfillment in purgatory

I just finished reading Sandkings from G.R.R. Martin, it is quite short sci-fi novelette and quite worth it.
