I assumed we all know that the color is sum of perceived wavelengths of light reflected from something

I was just stating that your backing for that was no more correct than anyone else's.

Also, seeing as colours is what we perceive, and we could not exist in nothingness to perceive it, there's really no way of telling, or even assuming that nothingness has a colour.

Basically, if you stood in an empty universe of absolutely crap all (Nothingness), what would you see? (Don't get all technical on me that my question doesn't make sense. You know what I mean)

Dude, if you're in it, there can't like, be nothing. Also you can't see unless there are like, umm, light particles there to interact with your eyes. And then there would be something, so it umm, like, wouldn't be nothingness. Your question is such a fail, like, dude.

Lopdo wrote:actually, black is lack of color... so if nothing has a color (assuming that the question even makes sense, which it does not) it would be black

Black is when the object takes in all the light that hits it and reflects nothing into your eyes. Black is therefor the lack of colour reception.

I agree with both statements - and support it is black. Color is the reflection of light off of something and our perception of that reflection.

Light hits the object - object "absorbs" some (let's just call it all) of the color minus one (the one that is reflected out/back). If we see the object as Green - multi-colored light has "hit" it - the object "absorbed" "everything but Green" and "reflected" Green back/outward. We perceive that object as Green for that reason even though the object is "not Green" but just absorbing what has hit it and reflecting back the Green.

If an object "absorbed" every color and reflected back nothing - we perceive that object as Black. That is our "nothing reflected back at us" color perception of the nothing headed our way from that - therefore "nothing" is perceived by us as Black.

Sorry for all of the quotation marks in this but it is not accurate otherwise.

I also agree with Lopdo that the question, as asked, does not make sense.

I have to agree as well.
If you think about it its simple to prove. Black holes don't let out light, in fact thy let out nothing. So if a black hole doesn't let light out of it, and a black hole is black, logically it would be black, basically if you look into a black hole you are seeing nothing.

Noone has ever looked into a black hole. We don't know they're black.

So, what colour would be in your field of vision?

Well.
And there is stuff in a blackhole to my knowledge.
