Also, I try to avoid programming while drunk, it doesn't end well :)

I find that offensive.

We complain about the American piss water, and you complain about ours? We make proper beer, dude. How long before someone mentions Norman's piss beer?

No it's not if it's generally accepted and shared opinion by the majority... It's personal see?

Back to to the Beer topic... I guess you all have not tried the countless micro/craft-brews springing up across America in the last 10 years? Colorado is king of craft brewing. Ignorant Europeans...  Imho, some of them are producing among the best beer in the world. I also recommend our hard ciders, making a small comeback, a superb hot summertime day drink.

we are not talking about small/home brewing, but about stuff that is available anywhere :) Anyway, one of the things I want to try when I go to US (if that ever happens) is to try lot of beers, both commercial and small/home brewed ones so that I can make opinion based on my own experience

I figured... I was just taking the chance to call Europeans ignorant. :p Yes, come to the States and have at it yourself. You have a roof here in Cali.

P.S. thanks for addressing the Flatter issue.

If home brewed is what I think it is and what it sound like it is illegal in Sweden. Direct translation of the world which is probably wrong cause it means alcohol you brew in you own home with some illegal device through destillation... interesting fact it caused people to starve in the 17th century since we used most of our potatoes to make our own liquor illegally.

Homebrewing doesn't use any illegal devices, it is perfectly legal in most states and very popular in US. It is starting to to becoming popular here as well, and I am thinking about giving it a try. I am not sure about legislative details tho, I know you need some kind of permit to make hard liquor and pass validation for methanol or something, but I am not sure if that applies to wine and beer as well.
