Popular or not, why not have the option. In my games I still require everyone to use a non-bonus race. There are other games one can play if they wish to use them. At least having the options makes the game play types more diverse. And in mentioning this, I would like a game setting in which I can turn on or off the allowance of bonus races (angel, demon, insectoid). I know the % is very small, all but insignificant, but people in my games continue to come back because I have tried to create the most fair situation for everyone in the room. I believe it is generally appreciated amongst them.
