Let's look at this in another way.

Let's say you actually were unlucky, as opposed to just a loser or a liar.

Does it make sense to give you something powerful that you didn't earn based on a claim by you that you 'feel' that it isn't working. Well, first, you can try checking the spawn bonus that the arachnids also have, because that's working just fine for me. And then you could look at the logic behind the solution you proposed.
