My parents got me web hosting for my birthday, but I still haven't come up with a domain name. Ideas?

in that case it is hard to give any advice. You could go with namesurname.com if you plan to use it for your (future) profesional life (portfolio, blog, etc...) or you can use your nickname.com if you just want to have some place to put all those random things in your life. Or you can do what I did, come up with name of company you would like to run in the future and use that
