Alliance debate

After having a debate during a game on whether alliances are acceptable or not I have decided to start this thread to ask everyone abouts their opinions on alliances and if they should be used and if not why? However, when stating a point please make the reason good enough to be accepted as valid and not just 'Cause I believe it's bad'. Including examples in your point can help you, but only a maximum of 2 examples per point. Also, replace swear words with * and no racist/prejudice points. And please take the time to read any points against yours, the person will be trying to persuade you to change your opinion, not attempting to talk to a brick wall. Plus, no points on people using multiple accounts, this is purely on 2 people who don't know each other making an alliance during the game. Now then, to start this off I will give 3 points for and against alliances. Hope this sorts any alliance arguments that may appear in the future.

Points for alliances: It can be support for those who have just recently joined this game and need help getting used to it.
It can be viewed as being fun if multiple people make alliances in the game.
People can use alliances to take down tougher people in the game for example if the top player had 50 areas and you and the other person only have 15 each, you could work together to take down said top person.

Points against alliances: It can be seen as bullying if 2 people take down one person who is weaker than them in the game.
It can be viewed as ruining the atmosphere of the game.
It can been seen as unsupportive as it can make a player dependent on alliance making and not with individual game playing.

I would consider both these circumstances unfair, first of all.

The reason why I despise allies is because no matter what, they always put someone else at an unfair disadvantage that they have no control over. That's why I'm in favor of the new mode being discussed made specifically for teams, everyone would have an equal chance playing it.

I'm sure most of the others on this forum share my opinion, so good luck getting a "debate" going.

Allies are ruining which was a great game , the game is strategy not lets ally and bully. Most the levels over 30 have fought hard for there rank , the few exceptions are the ones that caused the attitude of allying is great.It's the narrow mindness of these few that have encouraged others to ally.Now anyone joining thinks allies are great , false.The common complaint from the allies is you have all the up-grades ,well maybe they should choose there games better and learn to read game modes.Also , everyone started as they did at the bottom but they didn't scream ally anyone every single game .



P.S. ALLY IN MY GAME AND YOU'LL KICKED FOR-EVER MORE.

Everyone else consider these situations and state what you think.

Situation 1) What if a person asks everyone if it's OK for them to make an alliance before the game starts and the majority of the people say yes. Is it still OK to make an alliance?

Situation 2) What if a person asks everyone if it's OK for to make an alliance before the game starts, but no-one replies. Then the person makes an alliance in the game. Is it still OK to make an alliance?

Final situation) What if situation 2 happens, but during the game one person disagrees with the alliance making and rages. Now they didn't reply to the question beforehand and they believe their presence says no to alliance making, but the person who asked about the alliance making has recently joined the game. What should happen?

You forgot one important part , THE HOST , if the host decides no allies , then its respectful to honour these terms . Its not up to the mass or bullies to dictate a game . Thats where some of the problem lies , when the game started you played to the host. Its the host that decides , map size , mode and up-grades , he should also choose a no ally game and not be bullied into it.

OK, for all the situations, what if the host says they don't mind alliances as long as everyone is happy with the idea, because on most games I have gone onto that seems like the most common situation unless it's just me.

Maybe the games you've had . As to your question , yes thats fine as long as hes not bullied into it . Now reverse your question , if the host says no allies please but two players ally anyway , is that fair.

Yes that is completely unfair and I understand what you are saying, but with the above situation 2) and the final situation) what should happen if those were to occur, cause I have seen them occur in the past and things have gotten ugly so I think people should know what to do in those situations if it happens to them.
