So I have been working whole saturday (and I expect to be working whole tomorrow as well) and I finished lot of stuff. Nothing big and mention-worth (maybe except hints), but still thing that needed to be done. Feels great to be able to strike few thing off my big to-do list :)

I think you will like this one. User profile. You can search for any player and see his stats, achievements and what races he bought. You can of course make your profile private, in that case other player will see only your level and rank.

Another good new, VW2.0 beta will be up soon. There is still lot of work to do, but at least you will be able to check out (and test ;) ) all the new stuff

1.) BETA
2.) Achievments
3.) User Stats
4.) I am still a higher level than Lopdo, therefore a higher rank.
5.) Sign Out is spelt WRONG!

Reasons I'm Moderatly Sad:
1.) No Credits?!
2.) I see no more back button...

rank has nothing to do with level, it is completely unrelated. Also your rank is not set yet, so it is 0, so I win :P

that's because I was still in main menu, that social screen is just popup that shows over wherever you are. You can visit it when you are in game room or lobby and you won't have to leave

Good, I like the credits because they aren't the super long, scrolling type credits in movies and some games.

As people are really good and fond of making utterly stupid posts it is total time waste to read, check all the 19 pages to get adequate information about 2.0 version. So I ask is there any page, summary that can give a small glimpse or everything is still hidden from public. As vortex seems to be promising, depending the way it is being developet, v1 lacks many things.

A little thoughts about v1. First of all we all know how many work you put there Lopdo. And we do understand that you would like to get a little money back from this. But is the in-game advantages (races, upgrades) for money + for level based xp a really good idea. There are other ways. Map creation, in game room creation premium accounts have bigger options. And the contributers who admire your work will pay anyways. Advantages - the one thing that skilled based board games never tolerate, or at least its players (imagine chess with extra pieces). Yeah its facepalm. so should it be in any board game, whether virtual or not.

Now a little about gameplay. There are too many bad ways to play vortex. For example too many maps are build badly - 75% of them - that most times whether HC or ATT people try to get their tiles 8 dice and then defend their 20 tiles with only few connections to enemy tiles. Is it really interesting, skill to attack with few tiles an enemy hoping to break his 8 line, that is usually unprobable as 8 army goes more than 1 line and then the game delays mostly to one side to surrender due time or draw. I call it manual clicking as it hardly requires any thinking as the beginning part of game.

One interesting feature is the army size, unless upgraded you get 19 or latter part 29, 39. How often I see how high players want to play XXL maps agianst lower lvls who does not have it. Is VortexWar and its players aiming for advantage. Does players really feel good that they won someone who were placed disadvantage. Obviously people start to argue against me here... no we only few us thinks so. Good to know. But my game experience tells me otherwise.

Maps should be rethinked over. Mostly player made maps. But its hard to restrain that as you want to get a some money to run these servers and develope the game further.

So I would like to know how 2.0 will look like, major changes. As you read I wrote a little criticism. My idea is not just a look things pessimistic. But give criticism that helps to improve the game - in this case only in my opinion. I hope The Developer and the other players do not feel offended.

Public beta of vw2.0 should be up soon, I just need to fix few things and you will be able to see what's new for yourself. But don't expect some radical changes to the gameplay, new stuff is mostly social, bug fixing and little improvements here and there. And also new content. Which brings me you point about advantages.

I know that selling advantage in this type of game is not very good idea, that is the reason why I try to keep them at the minimum and there are no +50% bonus races etc. This is also reason why the game does not make enough money to pay for itself. Rest assured that I do not plan to change that. I am trying to come up with some unique and interesting bonuses for new races, but it is getting really hard.

I know that most of the user maps suck, actually I suspect that less than 10% of them are any good at all. Rest is plain crap or just copy of some previous (crappy) map. But I do not plan to change that either. I can't stop people from making crappy maps, there is no way how to do it. I hoped that map rating will help with the overflow of low quality map and looks like it is working to a degree. It is not perfect, I know.

I decided to implement clans before beta, so it will be available couple days later. I want to give you guys as much new stuff as possible right away so that you can try it out at once before you get bored :)

EDIT: more I think about this whole clan thing, less I like it. I am afraid that it increase use of hidden alliances and current problem will be much bigger
