It's Poland's "national meal"; not technically. It's a stew that contains a variety of meats and yucky sauerkraut/cabbage and usually lots of mushrooms. Many Polish families pride themselves on their own family recipe. I had it once, but was not to my liking. Considering there are many ways to make it though, surely someone does make it more to my taste.
*about bigos, in my family is using onyl one type of meat and no mushrooms this is so taste without useless food (mushrooms-killing all meal -.- - more than one meat? omg).
