Decrease of daily awarded shards?

i just logged in and i only got 10 shards... i know why.. i forgot to play last night... (was really tired, worked 14 hours)

Well this is really strange then, since I've been getting 50 shards daily ever since that update kicked in (whether I've played consecutively or not)...

Anyway, yes I did notice a pattern (40 shards today) buy I couldn't understand why it was happening (suddenly getting less than my usual share).

I suppose it is another case where I benefited from the doubt (or the bug).

Got my 50 shards today, so I guess it's back to 10 shards tomorrow...
