New race ideas n stuff

Hi,

I've been playing vw for couple of months now and i like how the game developed, so I thought I may contribute some ideas.
1st: New races
There were some new race ideas spread through the forum, but I have somthing different in mind. My idea is something like a tech tree in diablo II or smth.
So if u have one premium race u can buy another (better), that cant be bought without the previous (weaker) one.

For example if you already bought Angels (+5% defence) you would be able to buy (fe) Archangels (just an example ;) ) that would have +10% defence and +10% spawn.

Also there can be a choice between two higher races, after buying the first 'basic' one. Then u can only choose one and never can buy the other.

For example: you bought Arachnids (+5% attack +10% spawn) so u can choose between smthn like Spiders (+5% attack +10% spawn +2 extra attack boosts) or Scorpions (=5% attack +5% defence +10% spawn).

This can apply to all races and I'm not gonna argue about each bonus. This were just a few examples which I had in mind

2nd: Camouflage
This could be a new type of boost, placed by the player, that will alow him to hide the true number of his units in a field. The camouflaged field would be seen by other players as a stranght of 1. It could be used to hide your 8's form enemies as well as leaving 1's next to enemies 8's as he would suspect a camouflagged 8 there :)

Imagine wininng 8vs8 in hc mode (rushing to cut enemy in half ;) ) only to crush into another hidden 8 in a pinchpoint.

3rd: Low level bonus
I've seen many low level players that quit the game cause they dont have a good chance to win.
My idea is to encourage them to fight for the win, by giving them a (lets say) 50% shards bonus for a win in a game. This would apply for players ranked (smthn like) 1-10lvl.

It can help skilled (but new) players getting shards fast -> buying new stuff -> becoming valuble members od vw community :)
I know that bonus can be used for 'stealing' shards in fake games, but hey - if u wanna cheat u will do it anyway.

I know your new and everything but I really think that you should have posted this in Feature Request. :)

Hi youseck and welcome to the forums! :P

I extremely like all of your ideas (all 3 of them).

I only have one remark regarding the second idea - if the camouflaged field is visible to other players, wouldn't it make any suspicions from an enemy concerning a 1 being an 8 void (because he\she will see that there is no field there).
I think the field should be invisible, and that will be the optimum solution, in my opinion.

This idea will indeed add an enormous depth to the playing strategy (as will idea number 1, although, I personally believe most people will choose Scorpions over Spiders any day ;) and it will require an added icon for the Scorpions to be made).

As for this topic being posted in the wrong thread - if any admin wants, he can move it to "Feature Request".

i like all of your ideas, really! i would love scorpions but as stated above it would require alot of work and most likely make the chances even more unfair, and they scorpions/spiders would cost alot more shards (even if they did use shard) because it would be equal to the $40 dragon race, oh well hopefully they will use those idea and make them come to life! (well game)

Exactly what I thought about the Scorpions race being the same as the Dragons race, but I guess that if it ever came to fruition, then Lopdo could make the Dragons race stronger to compensate for that.

These were just examples - my point is to introduce new races in a way of a 'tech tree' not any individuall race. As for the cost of the 'higher' races - the cost is double really because if (sticking to my example) u would want to play Archangels, u would have to buy Angels first, then purchase more expencive Archangel race. And if u think that's not enough -the 'level 2' race can be made available only for coins. (BTW I'm playing this game mostly cause its free :oops: )

I'm not sure I understood right. Anyway I'll give u an example how it looks in my head:
The game is full map manual hc, the red player starts and is able to connect all his territories in total number of 7, that all are strenght 1 at the end of his turn. So he places the 7 reinforcments in one field, making an 8 somwhere on the map. Then puts a camouflage boost on it and ends his turn. Now the blue player sees nothing but 7 'average looking' 1's :twisted: and can suspect an 8 somwhere - but will he risk an attack? :lol: And even more important - where will he place his reinforcments?
Of course the camouflagge will disappear when moved or attacked.

Exactly what I thought about the Scorpions race being the same as the Dragons race, but I guess that if it ever came to fruition, then Lopdo could make the Dragons race stronger to compensate for that.


Now as for the icons for these it would be simple! Take the origonal (Arachs.) and change it's colour! Ex. From Arachs. to spiders. (Scorpions could be yellow or orange version of this)

Yeah what I meant was basically that the camouflaged territory will not appear as such to the enemy. The example you have given here shows that you mean just that, so it means we understood each other. :P

The idea of the camouflage disappearing when moved or attacked makes sense, as well. 8-)
