Um... this thread and my thread are all mixed up now. This is confusing. Is this my thread or highlanders thread :?: :?

As for your question of fair, I do not find that playing games for the intent of maximum XP alone to be fair. As far as I am concerned, this is far more a downfall to the way XP is calculated... If someone wants to play this way, fine, but the XP should take account for this, and greatly reduce the XP earned. That is what would be fair.

It surely is not fair for someone to play an 8 player map with 8 players, take 3 hours to win (or even come on second), and still end up with less or equal xp than a 1v1 in 30 min... not even close.
Plus, the 1v1 on such large maps, as I have viewed countless times, most often end in a draw of course. So what is the point other than for XP. This is what is called "gaming the system". While it is not hacking, it is leveraging loopholes in XP calculation. And while you can justify it via the fact there is no rule against it, it does not make it ethically right or fair for others that play to really play the game as intended.

This is not about liking someone or not. I like JTE too. I just do not like that he is gaming the system for XP. Makes me want to quit playing sometimes. I don't mind a challenge, and I welcome those on my heals in XP like Highlander, Niogreek, Hatchu, etc to beat me, but it truly sucks to have someone game the system to gain a spot they did not really earn. I lose my motivation, and the level leaderboards loses it's point.

Um.. im pretty sure the part about you quiting the game isjust a huge bluff. ;) Thats kind of like having an un-beaten record on a game then someone new walking in and beating you so you decide to rage quit and never play again. Since you are 1 ranked on the leaderboards you shouldnt be complaing about how other players play and should be trying to beat them instead of complaining. The same for highlander. Although this still does not answer my question. Is this highlanders thread or my thread?

You did express yourself objectively right now techgump, this sort of reasoning makes much more sense. The emotions towards the player are expressed by others in this thread, thus it applies to them more likely. Either way, you said it yourself. It's a challenge - you have what... 3 levels waiting right? That's a challenge right there! From a moral standpoint, yes it's unjust, especially when the person is really proud of his level and shoves it in people's faces. Other than that, it shouldn't look like a big problem. Eventually, the leader board top10 will have level 54 and will lose the point of being lvl 54, but rather win/lose ratios will remain more important

P.S. it's highlanders thread, due to it's originality and the chronological order ;)

The levels don't stop at level 54. The game only stops issuing icons at level 54. But the levels themselves will increase. As for the challenge, it is not something I can compete with in any way in a fair play manner; none of us that play fairly can. What we will end up with is a bunch of XP farmers ruling the top of the Rank leaderboards... what a shame.

Xp farmers?

I think what you mean by that is a bunch of enthusiastic players who want to make the leaderboards in 1 week so they start playing non-stop. Which actually helps Lopdo make more money since they are more likely to buy warcoins due to competition. ;)

Sorry this is off topic but, then why doesn't it say 54+ on last icon instead of just 54?!

Well, lets compare:

Me, playing since June; spent 150 real $ in the game, and willing to spend more on a good game.
Asiok on the other hand, played for just a few months, made it to the top, and quit.; never to be seen since. Probably spent 0 dollars, and is not supporting the game in any way now.

Based on the last person to do what JTE did, your theory is blown. I would be willing to bet that most users that spend money on the game play fair. You don't need to spend a dime to play 1v1 and draw for massive XP in little time. Fact; can be done with elves and no boosts.

To boot, this play style messes with Win/Loss ratio, as draws are considered wins... so might as well throw that system out the window when people play this way.
And the game count is made much faster in 1v1 with quick draw... so, lets throw that out the window too.

The whole thing smells like shit for the rest of us that
1. do support the game over the long haul
2. do spend money
3. take our challenges and standing seriously
4. like to see a fair comparison charts, but is cluttered with farmers

Yes, I am competitive. I always have been. But I won't ruin the game for the sake of it. I will move onto a game where my fair play competitiveness is rewarded.

Well, that is just the way Lopdo put it. I have already broken the icon level once, back when it was level 36 max only.
My icon went white. I made it to level 38 before Lopdo had a chance to make new ones.

So by what you are saying here you say that people like puma who have high win loss ratios are cheats? I have a high win ratio does that mean that I cheat too? I have won 659/1159 games. By what you are saying here anybody with a win ratio over 50% is a cheat? In this game competivnes is rewarded, but so is having a LOt of luck. JTE probably just got lucky most of the time. ;)
