An easier solution would to increase the number you can go without losing xp to 5 and push the penalty up to 500xp. That would definetely prevent quitters.

Penalize guest so that they would not be able to join a game for another 10min. Problem solved.

theres something called proxies, anyways the 30 xp lost rule actually makes it worse sometimes. it sucks when ure computer does something weird and u surrender inententionally, plus most quietters are guests and they arent affected.

I think you should be able to Rejoin or Reclaim your armies if you surrender or leave
