Guys a quick poll. There is a little conflict with me and a clan mate because of my use of truces and alliances.
Now don't get me wrong, I hate it when people from the very beginning for no reason at all ally.
But there comes a point in the game that someone in the game becomes very strong and one can ally with others in order to survive and conquer the rising state.
For me, I prefer this as I believe it is justified. Just as much as the small britian allied with the Americans and Russians in order to conquer the rising Germany.
Though some people are hurt and look at this as distasteful, it happens to all of us. Many times I had use my skills to finally overcome some allied players.

Instead of making the game more "boring" this makes the game much more fun as the complexities of diplomacy and team work come into play.
No longer is the game all of nothing it becomes a game were compromises are made in order to have the most ideal results for all.
My final point is that the alliance opens the door to (not only improving your communication and team work skills) but also offers a teaching opportunity to the person as well as well as builds relationships (trust, transparency and loyalty)

These our my points on this topic. I don't want to force my opinion upon anyone neither start any arguements.
You don't have to agree with me. I just want an understanding of what alliances should ideally be and this is what I am open to doing within the game
If and only if it is necessary. Its 2013 and we can't be so narrow minded to not question/discuss why we should and shouldn't ally.
I appreciate your time and just openminded attitude

Note: If one doesn't want any allying then simply state it in the game title.

Allying doesn't make the game more complex, in fact it makes much easier for the allied players to make decisions as they help eachother and have one border (atleast) to defend. I don't like the fact that you drag world war 2 into this, this is a computer game, not a matter of life and death. Also in my experience you are one of those players who ally for no reason, the only reason to ally in my opinion is when 3 or more players already have allied or when it has been agreed to before the game starts.

I feel that you (and any other allying noob that Himelik might have accepted) are giving this clan a bad name and I will not be part of this clan aslong as you are a member of it.

I understand what you are saying. But we all have different strategies different reasons and ways to say "This is an ideal situation to ally" we got to just respect each other for our different ways not personally accuse or insult each other for it.
I say it makes it is more complex in the respect that: 1 You have to be more involved. 2 As the big one nation you have to account for multiple persons thus increasing the difficulty and the level of thought required. 3 You also have to account for the fact people will always/may ally or truce (either an implied alliance, where they both silently not attack each other by not placing units by borders or an explicit alliance where people agree on terms and conditions through the chat) thus making the game more challenging.
4 If others had allied you must actively counter that by mustering your own alliance
All of these factors seperate a normal free for all game and a relatively more active game/

You say that it makes the game more challenging but in fact it makes it much easier for the ones who ally...

Are you wanting the forum's input on this, or just settling a dispute? (Nothing against either, just curious)
