Presumably attrition style. Would make the most sense for this mode. Or maybe have a new style.

Why not to make it TOTALY new variable?

Units: Random / Manual / Borders
Fight Mode: Att / HC / 1v1q
Game Mode: FFA / Capital

This way we could do both, Att Capital and HC Capital ;) And we would have not one but 3 "new modes" that way. More customization, more satisfied customers. And for those who don't like 8v10 HC fights. For the gods sake, it would only be ONE (like in O N E) region with increased capacity. It makes it USELESS without supporting regions. Ofc choke point capitals would be pain but... hey! Thats what draw is for, right? (And you still need to take it down ONCE to win, right?)

Ha! I didn't think of the possibility of having a capital at the choke point. This would make lots of fun for both the attacker and the defender

But if you managed to get that choke once, you won. Even though he had 80 more regions on the other side. And even if he would attack you constantly, it would be only matter of turns until you win 8v8 and later 7v10 in second move.

The chance to win 7v10 is actually the same as beating a 3v5, doesn't look that difficult when you look at it that way, but it is actually 6% :D (with a defense bonus = 4.5%)
And in that scenario, the pumpkins would be pathetic, as the chance to win is almost twice as much = 10% (with an 8v10 it would get a dramatic 23%)

So wherever you manage to get close to his capital with your 7 (on HC) you have 6% of instant win while he has loads of work to do to get to your capital. Also consider that, on attrition you will be able to hit his capital and reduce its power, so next turn you may have chance of 8v10 (16%!).

Oh yeah, I guess the ability to add a thunder shield to a capital with a cap of 10 would be absurd, Joriom don't forget that you would have to get to such a situation, If it's a choke point, means there are most likely enough troops to refill the capital every turn. So to fix that I guess the capital should only be able to replenish itself, with no troop placement.

P.S. I'm only talking about hardcore right now

Aside from that, It's a great Idea.
