Those are both mighty big ifs.

& Highlander, sounds good.

That is true.

Here is my suggestion.

Have the council elect three or more people to run the Council thread, these people need to be consistently active as well as have a good knowledge of the forum and the clans. These people can be in a clan or they can be clanless. An account should be created that will only post on the Council thread, the password can be shared between the people elected.

The Wolfpack has done something similar with the Wolfpack HUD, run by "Informer", which is jointly operated by Autumn and I. I believe a similar system would work great for the Council as long as trustworthy individuals are chosen.

Using that system it would matter not if one or even two individuals were to become inactive because there would be another to pick up the slack.

Agreed to ELECT THREE chair-persons but still say they shouldn't be a clan leader on the chair.A clan leader has enough do deal with , plus he has a vote on the council anyway..

If acceptable, I would like to nominate myself as one of the three. I am active, organized, and unbiased.
Not that it matters whether or not I am biased, as all I and the other two would do is update the page based off of others votes.

So, Coucilmembers, please vote your opinion on me being on of the three.

So far we have THREE strong contenders for the position of Chair-persons.

So so far we have 1 yes to having three Chair-men/women sharing a different account that runs the Council Thread.

"I'd say yes to it for Wolfpack, but the decision falls to Autumn/Necro."

I would nominate chris1726354 for it. I'm not going to vote on how to replace the thread and what not until I've discussed it with WC.

I would not think that the 'chair-person' would need to be anyone special or non-biased, they could even be someone with a vote. They would simply need to organize, I don't think there's any need for them to have a vote of their own, especially if they belong to a clan already.

That said, I would like to nominate Fangfallen (though he really may have too much to do at the moment), Royalblue (if he actually goes through with coming back), Ballsack (though my understanding of that situation is admittedly low), and/or Funnyman (neither Wolf nor clanless, which may be a possibility). Feel free to take what you want from that, it's my opinions. Attackbomb would be my fifth choice, but he may just go inactive or make another clan at any time.

I would also like to propose a solution similar to the WolfPack 'Informer' account, in which we make the new page with a neutral account and give the password to three (or four) of the major clan leaders. So the responsibility to update could be shared amongst Autumnwolf17, Highlander, and Guest77/Ryankill/(WC leader). (I think this is a fair assessment)

On a separate matter, I think it may be wise to have a little weight in voting strength based on clan sizes and power. For instance, with no offense meant, a small clan like AM or the OOS (I don't know their status, sorry if they are bad example, but you get my point) has just as much representation as a major clan like the Rangers or the Wolves. We might want to have a vote on how to balance that out so that things like this run smoother.

Thanks!

i like those ideas but y only the high level and well known clan leaders sharing the responsibility to update? i for 1 am on every day except sundays in gmt -5 so updating would not be a problem for me.....:)

Well, that's fine and all, but you, unfortunately, are not necessarily in the best position to be one of the upstarts should it happen. I feel it would be ideal if the people who had control of the account were the ones who's position in the council is most secure. We wouldn't give the account to too many people, just to make it easier on the people who would have to update. I think that the fairest way to choose the individuals is by their clans. Keep in mind though that the people with the account would not have any more power as a result of the account itself, it would just be a job.

As for the other proposition on weighted voting power, I feel that is reasonable so that the interests of clan with more people would have more power in the council.

I think we need to agree on a few things among the clans to define the power of the council.
