Only good thing Trump would do for this country is possibly make our national debt smaller; he is a businessman after all.

I think he'd balance our foreign dues as well... about fifteen minutes after forcefully exporting our entire stockpile of nuclear weapons into the global market. Funny thing, the smoldering wreckage of post-Trump America would have inherently minimal national debt, but we risk losing quality of life with it.

I'm exaggerating here, but only a little.

Here are my beliefs. I hope this will start a dignified and cordial discussion of politics.

As I have stated before, I will be voting for Bernie Sanders in the primaries. I wish he were harsher on guns, but that is really my only beef with him. Besides, this is America, with a Republican congress, it is impossible to think of touching gun control anyway. I would vote Jill Stein for president if the Greens ever had a chance. Hillary is just socially liberal. Her other policies are majorly conservative. Most Democrats don't even realize it. Voting Hillary is practically voting Jeb Bush, but with slightly better domestic policy and slightly worse foreign policy.

I think Sanders will be like FDR minus the Japanese internment camps. If Trump is elected, I think internment camps will see a return, and America will become far too unsafe for Muslims or most other groups that would be a minority here.

If you wanted a full outline of my political beliefs, here is a shortlist:
Drugs: Legalize marijuana. Decriminalize other drugs and start correction centres.
Guns: Long Term - Prohibition on guns. Short Term- Make it harder to get a gun and regulate them like cars.
LGBT+: Full rights as citizens of the US. Educate children in sex-ed about sexuality and gender change.
Black Lives: Yes, they matter, just like all life. Clamp down on police, force reports on each arrest and video if possible.
Environment: Global warming is real, and it is the biggest threat to our nation because it could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it. Reduce carbon emissions. Move towards alternate power sources. Create jobs.
Foreign Aid: Help the American people before others. How can we fight for the rights of others before we guarantee them to ourselves? (This is the only topic that I am pretty conservative on.)
Foreign Policy: Work in coalitions and with the UN. No unilateral military action unless directly attacked.
Military: Less spending. End useless programs. Keep supplying jobs. End draft unless president gets senate to approve one.
Tax: Tax the rich more. Tax the poor less.
Income: Raise minimum wage. Paid parental leave. Free healthcare. Tuition free college. Pay for in taxes.

I think this covers the majority of my beliefs. I would be interested to see others make a list. I know that some of my views are considered controversial, but since this is the Internet, keep arguments respectful and polite, and I will remain such with your policies. Thank you.

I don't understand taxing the rich more, unless they are hoarding money, some people work hard to make that money and spend a lot of time making it just to be taken away because they make more, I agree people with Millions just sitting in the bank is terrible for the economy, needs to be a better way.

I'm a Jeb Bush supporter, but chances are I'll be voting for Rubio in the primaries unless things have really changed by then. In the event that Donald Trump wins the nomination, I will be volunteering with the Clinton campaign (or Sanders, if things really change in the next few months). Maybe I'll even get to see you.

A brief summary; I am politically moderate, leaning Republican. Certain things I am much more conservative on, others much more liberal. I tend to prioritize international/foreign issues, seek policies that benefit as many people as possible, and strongly favor bipartisan cooperation.

I'll make a better list later, I'm really interested in hearing from the rest of you.

Side note, do y'all want to make a separate thread?

I'm totally up for a new thread.

As for the Robin Hood tax, it is for the exact same reason as it is named. Too help those that are less privileged. Even Donald Trump agrees with taxing the 1%. It is based in the principle that equality is not always fair, and being fair and just is more important. If you are born into poverty and make it big, good for you, not everyone has the same exact opportunities as you had. If you were born rich and were able to remain rich, same goes for you. The problem with equal tax is that not everyone is born equal.

Now, whether it is ACTUALLY fair to tax someone with more wealth in order to help others gain wealth is debatable, but having an upper-middle class father and a mother in poverty with her own child (my half-sister), I would much rather myself live less well off for the well being of the family that I don't live with. It is, in my opinion, unfair that my mother has to barely make it by each week, while I have excesses of food and wealth around me. However, in this system, the two are treated as practically equal. If you tax the rich, they will still be rich. If you tax the poor, they will still be poor. If you want to build a middle class, you have to have tax brackets.

Ew.

Honestly, I could see Lancestar supporting him. The way they talk is way too similar.

What if they're the same person? Have you ever seen both of them in the same room together?
