Defeated players coming back...

How about: when somebody leaves and there is a defeated player watching from the sidelines......they get to come back into the game?

Personally, I have some doubts about the idea....but it is something to chew on.

Perhaps you can be more specific as to how this player may return to the game or how it may be implemented. RIght now it is too vague.

Say there is a 4 player game and one of the players gets knocked out early game, but stays to watch the rest of the fight. At that point, if somebody disconnected, the defeated player takes over where the disconnected player leaves off. And if the game got down to the final two and this situation happened: the person who didn't disconnect would be victor. This is because at the moment of the disconnection, he or she was the last person playing.

And if there ever happened to be multiple people watching at the same time while someone disconnects, the person is either chosen at random or comes back in in the order in which they got out (we could either make it an in game option to decide which type they want, or discuss here whether it should just be one or another).

I would also like it if you had the option to allow this or not allow this to happen in your specific game; I kind of like the term "ghost mode," (we can decide the terms later). We could either turn it off or on.

And if Lopdo did ever decide to implement this.....he could always take it off if there is to much negative feedback, which I imagine there could a lot of.

This would be a way to, in effect, get more shards and XP right? I mean if someone disconnects, most of the time they have lost continuously and cannot hold out. I would say that unless someone quits because they cannot complete the game the person who quits is in such a bad position that they cannot win no matter what (or so they assume). I know that many times people quit because the troops that they have placed have been completely demolished and they cannot defend anymore.

Perhaps Lopdo can make the game end when the last player leaves, meaning we can conquer all the remaining regions after all the other players leave so that we can maximize XP and shards per game.

To be honest, I completely forgot about what would happen if someone surrendered. I was thinking only about when someone disconnects. Although, this would also apply to surrenders. See, usually when I disconnect I am owning them field....which is why I get so upset when it happens. :cry:

But yes, this is basically a way to get more shards/exp. Especially because even if someone is owning the field when they disconnect: the person who comes into play doesn't have the same playing style as the disconnected person.

Another thing, if this idea does happen....when the person comes back in, do they use the race that they came into the race with, or the race that the disconnected person was using?

I can probably suggest lopdo to implement a 2minute lap of time to come back in case your computer crashes or disconnects... as for surrendering, that stays final.

Has anyone every played bomberman with sudden death disabled and returning players? Basically, when you die, you enter a cart and your cart can move along the edges of the screen and shoot bombs in the arena, trying to screw up players.

This can't literally be applied in this game, but I see no reason why dead players could not have a method to screw up live players. I mean it would be fair for everybody alive since the dead player can choose its' target. Or I don't know, maybe not directly affect the board, maybe just change the way the map is or I don't know... Thoughts?

IMHO it could work, but only if player "joining late" will not get any exp or shards as a reward. Otherwise any newb could possibly hop onto winnings player place with a bit of luck and get reasonable ammounts of exp/shards.
Also it should be immediate, without any turns passing by. Why? Player A fights with B while C walls off. A leaves, so B starts to attack C leaving his A front totaly open. Then someone joins as A and screwes B.
ALSO place that player takes in a match should be the first time that he surrendered. So A, B, C and D play a game. A leaves. After that B gets defeated and A joins again. In that case B should be 3rd and A should be 4th no matter whate, even if he wins.

Why would anyone play then, if they would not get any exp/shards or even winning place? To balance gameplay and create additional threats for leading player in place of oryginal player.

It is kind of suppose to give the new person the shards....

When somebody disconnects, they don't get any shards or exp from that game. Of course, they wouldn't get any of the shards earned from the other player, just the ones that he/she starts earning once he comes back into play. In other words: you only get the exp and shards from territories that YOU take.

Shards should be reward for time spent in-game. Its in Lopdos intrest to give players as little shards as possible but yet to be rewarding. New players should first learn the game and start winning on their own or just spend more time in longer games to earn shards. Thats the purpose. From what you say we could as well request getting warcoins for every game won. Thats not gonna happen.
(Please remember that the MAIN way of getting items from shop is SUPPOSED TO BE for warcoins = benefits for dev)

Ok, so you say that players "late joining" would get only exp for regions they've conquered. And what about performance bonus? New player that does realy know much about game joins in place of leading player that got disconnected. Hes in realy good position to win even with lack of skills. Should he get any reward? I would say no.
