No, it's basically saying "Are you gonna choose your own life, or contribute to everyone's?", I think. Probably wrong.

Alright, I don't know why it seems like a paradox, but here we go:

First one's pretty easy, it asks if you still have faith in what you used to believe in.
Second line asks if you fight for what you want, or wait for someone else to.
Third line asks if you follow the authority and rules that oppress what you fight for or desire.
Fourth line offers the chance to defy oppression and live the way you want instead.

Essentially, it means you must fight to create your destiny.
