i have no idea how to use my mute button

This belongs in the Bug Report forum in its own topic at most. But I may as well answer it, you just hit the little speech bubble with the green check mark in it under a person's name during a game. It will turn into a little red 'x'. If that doesn't work, then it is an actual bug and then you should report it in Bugs. Next time you have a problem like this, post it in a help section (like mine) or ask someone or something like that.

He was referring to the OP, since it says how you can just mute spammers/flamers instead of reporting them.
