Hopefully my memory serves me well, for I don't think this has been suggested…
Mode where reinforcements is based off of overall land count, not connected land.

This is more meant for large maps. It allows multiple bases and actually means someone would be able to come back… just in a different way.

What if it were used on full map? Red could expand in every direction, destroying every powerful unit and not really caring what else he did because he would have insane reinforcement and no real threat of being limited on doing exactly the same next turn. All it would take to win would be having the first turn and understanding the values of one through eight.
We may as well just cut to the chase and make VortexWars a simulated spinner app.

Even with conquer mode, it would just be a cross of luck and alliance.
