Spectate a game, then join it if someone surrenders

Hello all, I searched a bit for this kind of topic in here and I did'nt find anything. So excuse me if I ask for a feature that someone already asked.

Today I wanted to join a game but it already had the maximum number of players. So I used the "spectate" feature, just to see how their game was. Just before his third turn, a player surrendered (a guest, of course ! ^^) and then I thought : "What a pity ! I couldn't join this game and now it's ruined because of this quitting player. I'd like to play those abandonned territories." I wondered if a new feature can be done, which allows a watcher to play when someone surrenders. Like if he became the new leader of this faction.
But I don't think it would be used a lot if it exists so I'm just asking, I don't know if it's possible/easy, it's a suggestion that crossed my mind. Don't hesitate to ask me some precisions if I wasn't clear.

Have a good day !

For one, it would have to be only four the first five or so turns. Second, you probably should add the option before the game on whether they want the dead players to come back to life (and for that matter, you probably shouldn't be ankle to play as a race you haven't owned... perhaps just zombies race with disadvantages so that you don't defeat elves to have dragons come back) Third, what happens off there's are multiple spectators who all want to play?

Oh, it sounds more complicated than I expected.
First, I don't think that is necessary to limit the number of turns in which it's allowed. This way it would be possible to get back a faction from an idle player at any time. It would be unuseful to get back a faction from a player who is about to loose, but it would be possible.
Your second point seems legit, it must be an option that we choose when the game is created. I really like the "zombie race" idea, that's nice ! It would be a race that appears only when a leader comes back (with disavantages, that's a good idea too).
And last, to choose the spectator who will play, buttons would appear for the watcher (spectate or play as blue/red/etc.), the fastest get the place. Like when we join a game.

It would make it even easier for people to cheat; they could create one account and use it to actually play, and if they are about to win, they could surrender and immediately join with their real account, then take the win. If this were to go into play, there would need to be a limit to the amount of turns you can do it for, and you should only get shards and XP from what you played, rather than what they played aswell.

Yes, it should probably be an option when you create the game, and the zombie race does seem very appropriate.

Mhm, first come, first served.

I want a Zombies race, as well as an egg race.

I see... Cheating is a problem and I didn't think about it. Thanks for clearing the situation :)
