Initial Shield

Could you modify the start of full map games to allow people to place shields before the game starts? It'd be a nice way to take a little bit of the sting of being last away, without changing too much game dynamics.

I like the idea, but he would have to be in a new form of game mode or something, because some people enjoy it as it is..

+1 for this idea.
30 seconds to place shield(s) prior to player one starting their turn - should only apply to Full Map.

I noticed your idea after posting mine, I actually thought something like your idea on maps full, but I could only do the latest colors, I invite you to read my post "balance colors in the game"
See if any of these ideas out reach "successful"
