Larger Random Maps

Had a quick scan through the section and didn't spot anything along these lines so I made a new thread.

I usually play on XXL random maps and I would quite like to see much larger maps being generated, XXL gives roughly about 100 spaces in a map when randomly generated.
However we know from user generated maps you can get a max of 250 in a game.
XXXXXXL random maps may be able to give the players new challenges, forcing the tactical thinking that comes with a random map. Whilst preventing the inevitable stalemates that come standard with so many of the user generated max size maps and offering variety from the max size maps that are just huge chunks of land where whoever has the most units wins.

Just an idea and something I would love to see and would use.

Cheers,
Lewis.

I'd also like larger maps but the downside is that there are too many allies already taking advantage for there own personnel gain , ratings, rank and achievements. This would be just another avenue , unless it is capped at only over level30 could get it or maybe less level25.

Which happens anyway and large maps already exist having been created by users.
So bringing in larger random maps wouldn't add or subtract from this issue it would just allow people do it on larger random maps just as it would allow everyone else to enjoy larger maps.

bigger maps is a great idea... but it can happen those games last 1h, 2h, 3h, 4h....

then there also should be a feature to end the game after 100 rounds, player with most connected lands will win. (and ofc this will be announced 5 rounds b4 the end)

The only problem I can think of is that Lopdo would have to update the map generator again, because an XXXXXXXXL map would have lots, and lots of chokepoints..

exactly, lots and lots and lots of choke points, but all interconnected as they usually are on a big map, a lot harder to hold a big area if it has loads of ways in and out of it. I think that having so much land may prevent large areas with only one or 2 ways in being so common. That's what I would be hoping for anyway.

Good idea

that way i don't have to go searching thru maps that people make to find bigger maps
