Wow

! Now this is really something great ! To me this is indeed the one and only way to use the existing rating system, it is how it has been originally intended (the Glicko stuff). I fully support this idea

If people would like to do it multiplayer, another option might be to consider that only the winner gets the positive rating change (calculated as if winning a 1 vs 1 versus the highest rating of all other opponents), and all others get negative rating change as if they lost 1 vs 1 vs winner (or min / max / mean /... rank of remaining players at the time they leave game, if you don't want to wait for final winner before calculating rating change for others). This also means a draw would leave ratings unchanged (also true for 1 vs 1, not only multiplayers). This also reduces the risk of alliances, as only one player can get the award, few will be collaborating to finally get same rating reduction as if losing from turn 1... Now multiaccount is another story and needs at least the IP filter (provided this is enough, which I doubt) and a couple of mods like tech.
Last thing about FTA, I would not mind too much, as this should balance over several games... But Lopdo's idea should be just as fine, at least we would have to play it for some weeks then we can revert it if it happens to be silly.
OK Lopdo, looks like you have homework for Easter
