Races and Prizes

Postby Mossant26 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 5:03 pm

Hey im Moss and ive been playing for a little while now, im currently level 16, and one thing that is interesting to me is the different races. :) Im very new to the forum so idk if this idea has been thrown around, but a large Vortex Wars tourny, with 1st prize, or 3rd 2nd 1st, being an exclusive race. Any thoughts or feedback is welcome :D and keep that new stuff coming!

I believe this was suggested a while ago, but no definite yes/no reply from Lopdo. I would personally prefer that the race is temporary, so that somebody can't just win one tournament with only a few people and then completely ignore them thereafter while keeping the race. So as to not totally break things,
I'd suggest that the race only gets buffs equal to or a little better than what's available at the shop.

Example Idea:
Champions (+5% atk, +5% def, +5% spawn)

That would be a nice idea. Tournaments with unique races... Something to look forward to in the future. But we have to think how to include people across time zones.

I'd schedule automated tourneys every 4 hours, as long as they had 16 players to start.

Well to the first reply....in my head the idea was, and idk if the numbers work out i just pulled this out of rear end, a 50 player tourny maybe 4 players in each match, winner moves on to next round. Last 4 remaining fight, 4th 100 shards, 3rd 250, 2nd 400 shards, and 1st 500 shards and a unique race. Hypothetically the race would be Champion, no special abilitys or small special abilitys mainly used as an awesome bragging right. And as to the problem with time zones....i guess the times would need to be predetermined b4 hand ro something...that we would need to work on :P

I always figured that each match would be 2 player, single-elimination. Suggested prizing scheme as follows:
1st place: 25 shards x number of players + unique race for a week
2nd place: 15 shards x number of players
3rd-4th place: 10 shards x number of players
5th-8th place: 5 shards x number of players

So the prizes in a hypothetical 32 player tournament would be:
1st: 800
2nd: 480
3rd-4th: 320
5th-8th: 160

The problem is, that if tournaments are common, eventually nearly everyone will have that race, making it not so special.

idk, i think a monthly or even by weekly tourny would keep that unique race special for a long time

The problem with holding tournaments so far apart is that if you miss one for whatever reason, the next one won't be for weeks.
