Remove Max 20 Reinforcement Cap?

Postby infernalskull » Sat Oct 22, 2011 5:22 am

I'm a relatively new player, but I'm already seeing the debate over the draw issues, and choke points, etc.

The reinforcements are based on how many connected territories a player has, but caps at 20. Even if you hold more, it still only lets you place 20.

In a game where 2 or 3 players each have more than 20 territories and are connecting/bordering at multiple points, rather than trying to push through everywhere they can, savvy players only attack from 2 territories, because that's all they can safely "top off" back up to 8. Even in a small map, a dominating player will have to chase the remaining enemies throughout his territory for several turns rather than just crushing them and decisively ending the game.

So, what if the cap of 20 was removed? It would allow players to fill up their territories and attack more aggressively, hopefully resulting in fewer stalemates, and would let a dominating player just win, rather than needlessly drawing out the inevitable.

Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but I didn't see it on the list of requests that will not be added.

In game, there are two +10 reinforcement cap upgrades. So, instead of 20, you can have up to 40. I hope this solves your problem because if it doesn't: I don't believe Lopdo ever plans to add an endless cap function....
This too shall pass.

Actually if you removed the cap, it would get worse, not better, because for every 20/20 stalemate you get, there's also a 40/30 stale mate. Now they can afford to back up 5 spaces, so you don't need to break through 1, but through 4...
