Games with hidden LVL / Rating

Postby Pingu » Sun Aug 19, 2012 5:32 pm

Lots of high rank players have been complaining around about being trolled / team against just because of their rank. I recently earned LVL 37 (not long after version 2), together with some Rating points (still modest though). I noticed that this 'nice hexagon really' changed things, and indeed attracted most attention from others :( Probably the simultaneous rating system even increased this 'short term' game management style (kill high rank players fast, no matter if you die right after, as this will bring you the most points).

So I am suggesting an option in game creation, to allow for hidden LVL and/or Rating. Not in Profile (like hidden premium), but really on game level, like no race or no upgrades. Then hopefully ppl will (re-)start managing their own game instead of deciding to all ally vs strongest...

Highlander mentionned that names will still be visible, and he's too well known... OK, maybe, but:
- this is only the case for a low number of players (those on leaderboard)
- I doubt EVERYONE knows them by name, unfrequent players probably don't

I also know you can select only players above some LVL (or no guests), but my experience is that players of LVL 20+ are sometimes not the least 'trolling' and are often more Rating-aware then beginners...

The noobs who would seek out high-value targets against better strategy probably don't know the game too well, so I think this a great idea that needs to implemented ASAP. If someone constantly abuses the system, they can always be put on your blacklist.
Why am I still skulking around here? That's a very good question.
