The rating system seems a bit too volatile to me to really be accurate; e.g., I win a long hard game and get +27, my mom calls me to lunch and I lose 108. To solve this, first of all I think the rating system should be made a bit less volatile in order to stay accurate. Second of all, another possibility is to add quit button back. When you quit, rather than surrender, you lose a fixed amount in rating (and xp if it is in first 3 rounds) that isn't very large. You don't get xp or shards for the game, however it does count towards conquer/loss and wins/loses. This way, I can quit a game when my mom calls me for lunch at a relatively small penalty, but surrender when I know the end is near and still get my shards and xp from the game.

Rating should become less volatile after few games, I am not sure how less volatile after how many games. Those settings need to be tweaked, this is primary reason why there is a beta
