Oh its supposed to be egocentric. I (the speaker) am in this poem to consciousness of combined humanity, both its sorrows and triumphs, and the human race is nothing if not vain. I mix a few concepts of 'human' civilization (the world) and then its opposite. There really is nothing about us that doesn't exist in opposite. The wolf refers to the cunning trickster expressed in folklore, along with the semi-loyal doglike companion that plays role in other cultures (Roman for instance). It also plays controversy with the heart and soul bit, wolf is not the first word you would use to contrast this. Either way, think not of heart and soul as a good thing (as proven), but as what is on the inside of our choices. Therefor the wolf is the mirror image of us, what we see on the outside as well. This is where all aspects of my name come from. Autumn is the time after the warmth of summer, but when the world is still fighting the chill of winter. Wolf is as was explained up there. And if you ask a group of people to choose a number at 'random' between one and twenty, they are slightly more likely to pick 17 over all others. (plus there was a taken spot for Autumnwolf for game at least, so I had to add a number.
