Today I learned that the research station on the South Pole has a mailing address. (Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica APO AP 96598) I also learned that amazon.com lets you enter Antartica as a country when choosing your shipping destination. So, of course, once I get some spare cash, I'm going to try and send them something, just to see if the site will accept it. I wonder if that would actually go through...

In summer the Amundsen-Scott base has a few flights a day for provisioning ... but amazing that Amazon would have it as a shipping address. Would be interested to know the postage time and cost. What will you send them?

Sunblock is actually very useful, particularly with the depleted ozone layer and the ice reflecting this minimally ozone filtered sunlight.
Snow blindness (sunburn) also sounds great, they must put it as a tourist drawcard.
