If it's any help, North Korea's missiles aren't sophisticated enough to reach the US (unless you live in Guam).

And really, no war has been declared yet. At this point, even if we do go to war, you and I have nothing to worry about.

Uh....The war most certainly has been declared - since the 1950s. It only ended by an armistice - which was just rescinded by North Korea in the last two weeks - so from the North Korean government view - the war is back on/it never ended. I have no clue how this plays out but current signs are not promising.

Not that they are bound by it- but under United Nations/international law fighting can only resume after an armistice if notification is made in advance by one of the parties - well North Korea has served the notification - they would be "legal" at this point to just resume the war where it left off around 1953.

Ok, I can't be bothered to type this all again so I'm just copying and pasting what I wrote here, on the FWG Forums. (Rat, I'll kill you if you even DARE)

North Korea sent a video to the US depicting the White House in flames. The US responded by sending a fleet of B-52s and Stealth Bombers into South Korea, ready to attack if they try anything. Hah.

Even so, North Korea don't have any Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs), and even if they did (Which they don't), they have no technology capable of cloaking them, so they'd just be blown out the sky by an Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) somewhere around Hawaii.

EVEN if they did have cloaked ICBMs (Which they don't), they wouldn't reach any further than Hawaii with their technology.

EVEN if they did manage to get an ICBM or other missile of the sorts to the White House (Which they wouldn't), the US would just wipe the floor with them.

And that, my friends, is why you don't blank the west. The west's technology is better.

Adding a bit more here:
BeatlesFan is right, they have been in a "State of war" for a while now.

Also, it looks like China would probably back North Korea in a war, though they appear to be getting kind of fed up with the whole situation.

The US also sent an Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) System to Guam, near South Korea.

You may or may not be aware of the magic of Aaron Ramsey, a Welsh football/soccer player who plays for English club Arsenal. Basically, every time he scores, some big disaster happens, or a famous celebrity dies. He has only scored 11 goals so far, since he plays midfield. Count the below.

Currently, it goes like this:
26th April 2008: Scores first goal.
28th April 2008: Chinese train collides, killing 72 people.

21st October 2008: Scores against Fenerbache.
24th October 2008: Most major stock echanges experience worst decline in history.

22nd August 2009: Scores third goal.
25th August 2009: US Senator and nephew of John F. Kennedy, Edward Kennedy dies.

6th December 2009: Scores fourth goal.
8th December 2009: 127 people killed in Baghdad bombings.

30th December 2009: Scores fifth goal.
1st January 2010: 105 people killed at a Volleyball match in Pakistan after suicide bombing.

3rd January 2010: Scores sixth goal.
5th January 2010: Man who survived both the Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombings (He was at both) dies.

22nd February 2011: Scores against Leicester City.
22nd February 2011: Christchurch earthquake kills 181 people.

1st May 2011: Scores only goal in 1-0 win over Manchester United.
2nd May 2011: Osama Bin Laden is killed.

2nd October 2011: Scores against Tottenham Hotspur.
5th October 2011: Steve Jobs dies.

19th October 2011: Scores only goal in 1-0 win over Olympique Marseille.
20th October 2011: Muammar Gaddafi is killed.

11th February 2012: Scores against Sunderland.
12th February 2012: Whitney Houston found dead.

Also, when he broke his leg, an 8.8 Magnitude Earthquake hit Chile.

Joking aside though, I don't think much will come out of it. Yes, he's been brought up to believe that the US and South Korea are evil, but he's not an idiot. He knows full well that if he fired missiles at anyone, his neighbouring countries would come down on him like a ton of bricks. He'd lose everything he and his country has stood for for years.

But at least some good has come out of it; he's proved how powerless the U.N really is... even after sanctioning North Korea, they have no way of enforcing it. If he really wants his weapons, he'll make them, sanction or no sanction.

And now N.K is asking the UK and Russia to evacuate their embassies in Pyongyang... who knows what could happen...

I read somewhere apparently the most likely thing to happen is that he will launch a small attack to prove his threats weren't empty but it most likely won't kill many people and purposely won't spark a war or anything.
