Book club

Hey, so I decided to share some books that I read lately and I think you should read them as well :) Please no spoilers!

A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin - I think this should go without saying, one of the best fantasy novels I ever read. For those who don't know what it is, it is saga the TV show Game of Thrones is based on (does this sentence even make sense?). It is exceptionally written, although sometimes too detailed and it is pretty long so you won't finish it overnight (which is both good and bad thing :) )

Pandora's star and Judas unchained by Hamilton (too lazy to google full name) - This is sci-fi that made me dream again. Ideas behind it is what drives me forward those past couple months/years. It is pretty long as well and rather complicated, so it might not be suited for everybody. It is about humans colonizing galaxy and their conflict with newly discovered alien species. I don't why is that, but from all sci-fi universes, this is imho closest to how it is going to look in couple hundred years. It just all make sense. Maybe it is because it is relatively new book and author and since lot has been discovered in past decade he doesn't have to come up crazy ideas. He just takes what could work in 50 years from now and then advances it by 100 years and makes it awesome.

Please share books you think are exceptional somehow, I don't want just great books, I wan't the best ones :) There is just too many of them and one can't hope to read them all

Metro 2033/Metro 2034 by Dmitry Glukhovsky.
Bunch of Russians living in the metro system after a nuclear war. Awesomeness is ensued.

Intervention by Robin Cook.
Bunch of people do some shit and awesomeness is ensued. Also archaeology and church and morgue.

I am reading Godfather right now and I am loving it. I am not sure why, it has very interesting story, but it is not that exceptional. I guess it is because of the characters, they are really likable and lifelike. I want to be part of Corleone family and give myself to the life of crime (non-violent one only of course) :)

I've read it all ready, but it makes for a good story.
