Is Spectator Mode also going to be added or will that be in a later edition?

The code is there, but a bug is causing it to try to join a game instead of spectate when clicking a game that has started. I am working on a fix.

Just randomly disconnected from a game, for reasons unknown (very unfortunately). It might be my internet, but it's looking fine for everything else right now.

It seems like disconnects happen more frequently with the html5 client. I am looking into it.

Maybe allow copying text from in game chat , lobby chat already allows that? :?:

Thanks for bringing that up. Currently it is not possible to select text in the lobby chat. I will work on that. Copying text from game chat will be a challenge, so that might have to wait until a later update.

Alpha 18

Noteable changes:

Spectating and manual distribution is fixed.

The "Feedback" link in the menu now opens a feedback form instead of coming to this thread. The Bug Reports forum is still available, but the feedback form is a more convenient way to report bugs. It also has the option of generating and sending a screenshot of the page.

- Fix background music sometimes not playing or pausing

Game
- Fix location of guest's name in side panel
- Fix outline not appearing around player rating in side panel
- Fix background for defender in fight screen not appearing after attack or defense boost is used
- Fix placing max units in region when shift is pressed
- Fix sending manual distribution to server
- Fix location of "Distribute new units" message

Confirmation Dialog
- Fix gaps sometimes appearing in buttons

Server:
- It keeps track of disconnects from certain causes

Social
- Change title from "Social Screen" to "Social"

Tool tips
- Fix some errors caused by tool tips

Lobby
- Fix spectating games that have started
- Fix gap in Choose user maps button in create game screen

Alpha 18.1

Notable Changes

I focused on fixing some of the challenging bugs that have existed since almost Alpha 1. Some of them are:

- The game will continue to run when you switch to a different tab. It will run at a max of 20 fps to reduce the load on your computer.
- Clicking a button while in a game will no longer click any regions behind it
- Many bugs were fixed with text boxes being above an object when they shouldn't be, or not being clickable when they should be

- Fix clicking anything that is shown above map would also click any regions behind it.
- Fix crash with manual distribution when no units were distributed by player
- Fix Game Over screen shown to spectators
- Fix disconnected from server error incorrectly appearing after leaving as a spectator
- Fix thickness of outline around new turn message

Fix location of the title for:
- Daily Reward
- Create Game
- Game Over

Confirmation Dialog
- Fades objects behind it when visible
- Adds padding to content
- Content is centered
- Is vertically centered

Error Message
- Fades objects in background when visible
- Content is now centered and bold
- Fix title font size and position

Lobby
- Fix error when leaving lobby before connected to server

Social
- Guests can no longer access the social screen

Tool tip:
- Fix some situations where tool tip would not disappear.

General
- When the page is not visible, it will continue to update at a reduced fps
- Game will handle low fps better

Are you planning on adding the keyboard shortcuts for attack ('A') and defense ('D') boosts? It would be nice to have those.

Hi,

This looks promising, but I still couldn't play a single game : I am using Firefox (currently 50.0, but it was the same with several earlier versions, for several weeks), and the list of games on the right side of lobby screen is ALWAYS empty, even after refresh. And when using the Flash version 5 seconds before or after, I can see games (waiting to be started and/or already started).

Is this a known issue ? Specific to Firefox ? What are the recommended browsers to try the HTML5 version ?

Could you please check if you have a filter?

I just tried it in Firefox 50.0a2, and it worked, except for a bug with the background of some regions not appearing. I know it works in Chrome, and in the past it has worked in Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, Safari, Safari on iOS (with the same bug with region backgrounds), and Chrome on android.

D'oh ! :eek:

No idea why it was there, can't remember messing out with filters (do you anyway ever happen to have more than 3 simultaneous games to filter these days ???) but anyway...

So yes it works, and yes I also noted this background color issue for most regions (colored ones, but also whites in conquer games).

Good job anyway, keep it going ! And it's soon time to promote again this game, before it totally dies from starvation (no more players). Just my opinion, not even sure what that means in real life :)
