I downvote Jokern.

----

Please can you all stop saying random things ? Are you all kinda stupid or really young? Restarting the cmd never reset any IP and will never do.
You don't "reinstall" your router, you just restart it.
Jokern "thing to do with the cmd" are just hilarious.
Oh, and Gump, can you stop playing on the words and actually bring something to the conversation instead of just trying to contradict me? You're supposed to be a moderator... (and not me :P)

----

Anyway, banning IP is dumb, everybody with the smallest common sense and a little bit of knowledge knows it. Topic closed, let's get it over.

Dude, I'm in third year of Bachelor in computer science at the EPFL, the swiss equivalent of the MIT.
I'm pretty sure of myself when I say that just running a cmd, checking your network informations with ipconfig and restarting the command prompt won't change your IP address... I don't even know why I'm arguing on this...

The renew option on the ipconfig.exe ask your router to give you a new internal (also known as local) IP address. That's not the point.

We want our public address, the one that is shown when you browse Internet to be changed.
