Hi Guys,

since some days no one can login over the adress http://www.vortexwars.com

the Problem is: Domain is expired But the Server ist still running. So you can still play the game here, and use the forums Just a little trick required:

"SOLUTION"
(this is just a local workaround until the domain is renewed)

Edit the file named "hosts" (you can find it somewhere in your windoofs subfolder system32/drivers/etc ) with notepad (Admin privileges required!):
Add the Line

at the end, save.

And there you go

be aware that windoofs notepad usually adds .txt extension or something to the filename! This won' work! The filename must be "hosts" without any extension.

ok, I guess no one will read about this workaround here, unless the issue will be fixed, since forum is on the same domain

Well, now the site is up, so I guess it's fine.

I would suggest saving this if you want to get around if it goes down again. Also, for anyone using a Mac, the hosts file will probably be /private/etc/hosts

I'm confused as to what the windoofs subfolder system is. Could someone please explain?

To get to the System32 subfolder, go to: C:\Windows\System32.

If your system is on a drive other then C, substitute it for the drive letter.

That was more helpful Thanks. How do I tell the computer that I have administration rights? I didn't see anything about enter code here or whatever. Or do I have to be logged into the administrative account?
