Surrender Bug

I hope this is a bug...

So, I just found myself in a game that was essentially a stalemate. Each of us was at our respective pop-cap, with no more than 3 points of access to any other player. Draw wasn't around, so this continued for a great many rounds and, for whatever reason, everyone decided to attack me. It was enough of a draw that this had no effect either, for about 20ish rounds. Eventually, someone got a lucky roll, and since it was HC, I lost a little ground from it, and eventual was at a point where I was going to lose no matter what. At this point, since everyone else was only attacking me, they had all 8's for several layer on their boundaries, and nothing I did would influence the outcome of the game, so I went to click surrender, and found it wasn't allowed.

Is this a bug or a feature? If it's a feature, it's one that promotes needless waste of time. If a game's outcome is already determined, you should be able to surrender. Sure, it's annoying when people surrender at other times, but unless you come up with some really clever way to check for it, surrender should be enabled.

In Starcraft, it's considered bad form to force your opponent to track down your last building in the middle of nowhere. It just wastes everyone's time. Generally, you surrender as soon as it is clear that you cannot recover, allowing both parties to enter another game whose outcome is less determined.

Not that this is much of a problem, as you can always just refresh. I'm just curious if there's some in-game punishment, and if it's worse than wasting 30 minutes on a game waiting for a locally stable equilibrium to break.

I'll post my recommendation to fix this problem in feature requests.

What do you mean it wasn't allowed to surrender?

There has to be max 3 people in game to show draw button, 4 players with 3 access point simply isn't stalemate as you shown in your post

Clicking the surrender button did not do anything other than make a button disabled noise.

Personally, I'd say having only 3 access points, and being able to fully reinforce them and a bit more every turn is a stalemate, unless 30+ minutes with no territories trading hands for more than a turn doesn't count. Anyways, that's not particularly relevant to not being able to surrender.

yeah, that inability to surrender is pretty weird. There was similar problem but I fixed that. No idea what might be wrong this time
